What is the Security Patrol?
The East Lake Area Security Patrol is a private initiative sponsored by residents in the East Lake Terrace area designed to protect its residents' homes from elements of crime and to actively improve the quality of life in our neighborhood.
The Patrol area is defined as the area directly south of East Lake Country Club. The patrol borders are Glenwood Ave, Glenvalley Dr, McAfee Rd and Parker Ave.
The Security Patrol is staffed with off-duty DeKalb police officers who have arrest powers. The officers patrol at strategic times defined by the Security Patrol Board. The number of patrols conducted by the officers each month is determined by the total member subscription fees collected by the board for that month.
Membership in the Security Patrol provides members with access to:
- The Patrol Time Tracking & Incident Report:
- Read the officers' patrol logs
- See what days the officers' have recently patroled
- Communicate with the Officers in the Tip Sheet
- The private East Lake Area Security Patrol Google Group listserv.

How Do I Sign Up?
The preferred method of payment is PayPal. To join, click the "Subscribe" button below. The cost is $42 per month.
Be sure to tell your neighbords about about the patrol and forward a link to this page on to them. The more members we have, the stronger the security patrol becomes. If you refer a new member, let us know and you'll receive one month for free. If you refer 12 people, that's a whole year's subscription for free!
